THE ACADEMY OF EXPERTS
The Academy of Experts is an international centre of excellence for experts, mediators and other Dispute Resolvers with a substantial multi-disciplinary membership. It acts as both an accrediting and a professional body. In 1989 The Academy adopted the concept of Mediation as ‘another and possibly better way’ than the existing litigation or arbitration. Since then The Academy has developed and strengthened standards, training and accreditation in Mediation and other ADR processes.

The Academy offers a comprehensive range of training programmes with a wide range of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Expert Witness courses to enable members and non-members to develop their skills, and to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Tutors come from differing backgrounds and professions and bring different personalities and approaches and are bound by common high standards.

In conjunction with The ADR Centre, The Academy runs a number of Dispute Resolution Schemes for other organisations.

The Academy has members in many countries around the world and offers it services and training wherever they are required. In furtherance of its objectives it has mutual co-operation agreements with The Japan Mediation Centre and many leading organisations in many countries.

Ethical and professional standards are governed by Codes of Practice and enforced by disciplinary procedures
